08/08/2010 - Jacksonville, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran linebacker Tony Gilbert on Sunday.

A sixth-round draft choice of Arizona in 2003, Gilbert played in 56 regular season games for the Jaguars between 2003 and 2006. He led the team with a career-high 16 special team stops in 2006, but was sidelined for the 2007 campaign with a biceps injury he suffered during a preseason game.

He spent the past two seasons with Atlanta and played in 12 games for the Falcons in 2009, mostly on special teams.

The Jaguars also signed linebacker Kris Griffin and also added second-year defensive tackle Leger Douzable to the roster on Sunday. The team also waived wide receiver Nate Hughes, safety Terrell Whitehead and offensive lineman Andrew Crummey.

The AFC South and the NFC East are the favorite divisions to have the next Super Bowl champ among them in the NFL betting odds. And it is likely they will do so. The Bengals lost in the AFC Wild Card spot in a hard-fought battle against the New York Jets last season. Lest not forget the Pittsburgh Steelers, the XLII Super Bowl Champions… All these teams present interesting odds and matchups for the upcoming season, but the safest and surest bet seems to be with the Colts in the AFC South and the Cowboys in the NFC East.
